Registration Instructions

Registration opens on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 at 9:00am (CST) Because we have such a large Interested Rider List, registration will be conducted in two steps.

Day 1

For the first 24 hours, all completed registrations will be accepted and placed in a pending status. It does not matter when within the first 24 hour period that a registration is received so there is no need to be at your keyboard right away when registration opens. This should reduce stress on applicants and our website. If the rider limit is not reached by 9:00am on Sunday, January 7th, all registered riders will be confirmed and registration will continue normally. If the rider limit is exceeded at the end of Day 1, a lottery will be conducted to assign riders to either the confirmed or wait lists. Day 1 registrants will be notified of their status within a few hours after the end of the Day 1 registration period.

After Day 1

Registration will continue normally. As long as there are open spots, riders will be confirmed immediately after their registration process. Once registration is full, new applicants will be informed of this on the registration page and have the choice to continue with registration and be placed on the wait list or stop before registering and paying.

Wait List

If you are on the wait list, there is a good chance you will eventually get in as a fair percentage of confirmed riders will drop out for various reasons. We will also be doing our best to find additional accommodations. Wait list riders can drop out and receive a full refund at any time by sending an email to


All payments are run through PayPal, unless you have arranged an alternative payment process with us before registration opens. Contact us at: to make arrangements to pay via some method other than PayPal. PayPal accepts PayPal accounts and you can pay without a PayPal account using most debit or credit cards.

Special Registrations/Accommodations

Tandem teams can enter their tandem partner’s name when registering so we can keep you together. Each rider must register individually. If you would prefer a single room (1 person) or have a special accommodation request, contact us before registration opens at


Life happens so if you are a confirmed rider and realize you need to drop out, please review the refund policy posted on the website in the Costs & Services page. Cancelling as early as possible will result in a larger refund of your registration fee and gives another rider the opportunity to join the event.

Booking Pre-Post Ride Rooms in Apple Valley

Ride headquarters is the AmericInn, 15000 Glacier Ave, Apple Valley, MN 55124 (952 431-3800.)  A block of rooms under the ‘Coulee Challenge’ group will be available as of January 7th, 2018.  The block room reservation dates are for Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Aug 10, 11 & 12th and Thursday, Aug 16th.  Rooms are available for days prior, during or after these dates. Rates are $110/night, with the group discount. Riders are responsible for booking rooms for their own itinerary at the AmericInn. Hotels at the overnight controls are included in the rider entry fee.
